BRICS Summit declaration opposes Palestinian displacement

Following the 18th BRICS Leaders Summit in New Delhi, member nations released a joint declaration titled ‘Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’. The document expresses significant concern regarding the situation in Palestine, specifically calling for the protection of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

The declaration explicitly opposes any policies aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank. It further rejects any attempts to implement geographical or demographic changes in Gaza and opposes unilateral actions that would alter the legal and historical status of Jerusalem.

Additionally, the BRICS members reaffirmed their support for the full membership of the State of Palestine in the United Nations and called for an urgent and permanent solution to the conflict.
