Bride injured in barbecue explosion during honeymoon in India

A newlywed woman, Nikita Saha, suffered severe burns following a barbecue explosion at a homestay in Kurseong, West Bengal, on September 13. The incident occurred while Saha and her husband, Souvik Das, were dining at a restaurant in Darjeeling during their honeymoon.

Security footage captured a staff member pouring an unidentified liquid into a barbecue fire, which immediately triggered a large fireball that engulfed Saha. Following the accident, Das filed a formal complaint with the Kurseong police, alleging that the establishment lacked essential emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers, and failed to provide immediate assistance.

Saha was initially rushed to Anandaloke Hospital in Siliguri before being transferred to a specialized facility equipped to treat severe burn injuries.
