Bridgerule business seeks relocation and land rezoning
A business in Bridgerule is seeking outline planning permission to relocate, which could facilitate the development of six new houses on its current site. The company has submitted two concurrent planning applications to Torridge District Council to change the use of land from agricultural to B2 general industrial use.
According to planning agent RA Rowe Architects, the relocation is intended to move the expanding business to a more appropriate commercial area while releasing valuable brownfield land for residential use. The proposed site is situated directly off the B3254, a main road connecting Bude, Holsworthy, and Launceston, which the agent claims offers superior transport benefits for heavy goods vehicles compared to more rural roads.
The outline application includes plans for a new workshop building and a stock-proof post and wire fence. The proposal also addresses Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements, indicating a 10 per cent enhancement.
