Bridgestone Indonesia celebrates 50 years of manufacturing
PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia is celebrating its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of operations in the country. The Japanese tire manufacturer began its journey in Indonesia in 1976 with its first plant in Bekasi, West Java. To meet rising demand in Indonesia and neighboring markets, the company opened a second facility in Karawang in 1999, which includes a global-standard proving ground for product testing.
Nobuyuki Tamura, Representative Executive Officer at Bridgestone Corporation, stated that Indonesia serves as a strategic manufacturing and export base within the company’s global network. The company continues to supply advanced tire technology to global automotive producers operating within Indonesia.
Indonesian Minister of Trade Budi Santoso expressed openness to future investment opportunities and strategic discussions regarding investment policies to maximize global export opportunities and domestic market dynamics.
