Bridgeview crash involving UPS truck leaves seven injured

Seven people were injured in a collision between a UPS semi-truck and a work van early Wednesday morning in Bridgeview, Illinois. The accident occurred at the intersection of 71st Street and Harlem Avenue.

According to village spokespeople, the van rolled over during the crash, leaving several occupants trapped inside. Six individuals from the van were transported to the hospital, with two reported to be in critical condition. The driver of the UPS tractor-trailer was also hospitalized but was expected to recover.

Local authorities closed the intersection and surrounding streets, including northbound 71st Street and northbound Harlem Avenue at 79th Street, to allow emergency crews to work. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by local law enforcement. UPS issued a statement noting they are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
