Bridgeview Palestine Fest targeted by group led by convicted insurrectionist

State Representative Abdelnasser Rashid has condemned an attack on attendees of the 4th annual Palestine Fest in Bridgeview, Illinois. According to Rashid, a group led by Jake Lang, a convicted January 6th insurrectionist, targeted the event with the intent to intimidate Muslim and Palestinian families.

The confrontation resulted in a local teenager being hospitalized following an assault. Rashid characterized the incident as a deliberate act of intimidation and a hate crime rather than a protected protest, noting that the group used symbols of war to call for the erasure of the community. Local authorities are expected to investigate the matter.
