Bridgewater and Wangaratta Rovers post dominant wins in Australian regional football

In the Ovens and Murray Football Netball League, Wangaratta Rovers defeated North Albury 14.15 (99) to 3.1 (19). Co‑captain Tom Boyd returned after three months and kicked three goals, while Jace McQuade earned best‑on‑ground honors after a bruised‑kidney injury in a previous match. The win was described by coach Sam Murray as a strong defensive performance that limited the opposition to three‑to‑five inside‑50s in the second half.

In the Loddon Valley Football Netball League, Bridgewater ousted Marong 16.10 (106) to 9.12 (66), propelling the Mean Machine to the top of the ladder with a superior percentage. Forward Mitch Patten was named best on ground after kicking five goals. Coach Lachlan Sharp highlighted the importance of a strong start and the physical intensity of the contest, noting Bridgewater’s 40‑point margin secured a crucial pole‑position advantage with four rounds remaining.
