Bridgnorth Aluminium appoints Ilias Avgerinos as General Manager

Bridgnorth Aluminium (BAL) has appointed Ilias Avgerinos as its new General Manager to oversee the next phase of the company’s expansion. Avgerinos, an experienced industrialist who previously held senior roles at parent company Viohalco Group, succeeds Gerhard Trilling.

Following recent investments in the company’s cast house and finishing lines, BAL has returned to 24/7 production. Avgerinos aims to leverage the company’s position as the UK’s only coil aluminium rolling mill to target growth in North America and emerging sectors, including electrification, energy, defence, and energy storage.

Avgerinos noted that the domestic UK market presents significant opportunities as aluminium is increasingly classified as a critical material. He also highlighted a growing trend among UK firms to shorten supply chains and increase control over production. The Viohalco Group is currently discussing further investments to enhance BAL’s capacity to secure new orders in the UK.
