Brienno village on Lake Como to host guided historical tour

A guided tour of Brienno, a historic village on Lake Como, is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event begins at 10:00 AM at Via Antonio Canova, 1/A.

Participants will explore the vertical village, characterized by its stone architecture, labyrinthine alleys, and historical connection to 19th and 20th-century smuggling routes. The tour includes a rare opening of the Galleria Mina, a rock-cut passage that is typically closed to the public.

The village is noted for its medieval architecture and local legends, including tales involving Frederick I Barbarossa. The tour aims to showcase the traditional character of a location that remains largely outside major tourist flows.
