Bright Spring drama achieves global success on Netflix

The modern romance drama “Bright Spring” has achieved significant commercial success following its release on Youku. Starring Sun Tian and Jing Bairuan, the series reached 10,000 heat points on the Youku platform, making it the fastest modern romance title to do so in 2026.

Beyond domestic popularity, the series has gained international traction, reaching the 6th position on Netflix’s global daily charts and appearing in the Top 10 in 54 countries and territories. The show is noted for its high viewership on Yunhe, averaging nearly 40 million views daily.

Adapted from a novel by author Gu Niang Don't Cry, the plot follows the professional and romantic journey of Shang Zhidao, a woman moving from Harbin to Beijing, and her relationship with a demanding advertising director, Loan Nian. Directed by Jiang Jizheng, the production has been praised for balancing romantic elements with themes of career growth and personal independence.
