Brighton held to goalless draw by Jablonec in Conference League
Brighton & Hove Albion were held to a 0-0 draw by FK Jablonec in their UEFA Conference League league phase match at Stadion Střelnice. Despite dominating possession with over 70% and recording 15 attempts, Fabian Hürzeler’s heavily rotated side was unable to break through Jablonec’s disciplined defensive low block.
Brighton struggled to convert dominance into scoring opportunities, managing only three shots on target. Georginio Rutter and Ibrahim Osman were neutralized by the Czech side's organized defense, which recorded 48 clearances. Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen was forced into action late in the match to deny Jiri Slama and Vakhtang Tchanturishvili, securing a fifth consecutive clean sheet for the club.
Hürzeler noted that the team did not play at their highest level, stating, “If you play 0-0, then you didn't create enough; that's definitely something we have to get better at.” The result marks the first time Brighton has failed to score this season.
