Brighton & Hove Albion sign Nigerian teen striker Valentin Joseph

Brighton & Hove Albion announced the signing of 18‑year‑old Nigerian striker Valentin Joseph from Championship side Blackburn Rovers. Joseph terminated his contract with Blackburn and joined Brighton on a free transfer, signing a three‑year deal that runs until June 2029. He will initially play for Brighton’s Under‑21 team.

The teenager scored 21 goals across all competitions for Blackburn last season, including nine in the FA Youth Cup where he finished as top scorer, and recorded seven goal involvements in 18 Under‑21 appearances. Joseph is the club’s second Nigerian youngster this summer after Zadok Yohanna, who joined the first‑team squad earlier.
