Brighton & Hove Albion supporter dies after Aston Villa match

Brighton & Hove Albion has expressed shock and sadness following the death of a 72-year-old male supporter. The incident occurred after the club’s season-opening Premier League match against Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium.

The supporter reportedly fell unwell in the coach park while attempting to board a supporters’ club bus. Despite efforts from the club’s medical team, Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, St John’s Ambulance, and MB Medical Solutions, the individual could not be resuscitated.

Paul Barber, Brighton’s chief executive and deputy chairman, stated that the club is heartbroken by the loss, noting that what should have been a happy journey home ended in tragic circumstances.
