Brighton moves to sign Dutch defender Struijk for €23m, eyes midfielder Bogarde

Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed to pay more than €23 million to Leeds United for Dutch centre‑back Pascal Struijk. The 26‑year‑old, who also holds a Belgian passport, is under contract for only one more year and has made 196 appearances for Leeds. The deal was reported by The Athletic and confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Brighton is also preparing a strong bid of around €25 million for 22‑year‑old Dutch midfielder Lamare Bogarde, who has featured in 44 games for Aston Villa this season. Villa are willing to sell for that amount, and Brighton sees Bogarde as a potential successor to centre‑midfielder Carlos Baleba. Sunderland have also shown interest, but Brighton remains the primary suitor.
