Brighton prepares for UEFA Conference League debut against Kauno Zalgiris

Brighton & Hove Albion is set to begin its UEFA Conference League league-phase campaign on October 15, 2026, against Kauno Zalgiris. The English side, currently third in the Premier League, enters the match following a four-game winning streak in all competitions.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler faces injury concerns ahead of the fixture, with several players including Kaoru Mitoma, Evan Ferguson, and Mats Wieffer listed as unavailable. Brighton's schedule for the 2026/27 league phase also includes matches against Jablonec, Getafe, Universitatea Craiova, Monaco, and Panathinaikos.

Kauno Zalgiris, representing Lithuania, enters the competition having won only one of its last five European away matches. Under the current tournament format, the top eight teams in the league phase qualify directly for the round of 16, while teams ranked ninth through 24th enter a knockout phase play-off.
