Brighton sets Premier League record with 15 different nationalities

Brighton & Hove Albion has set a Premier League record by fielding 15 outfield players of different nationalities in a single match. The historic event occurred during a 5-0 victory against Coventry City on September 13, 2026.

The group of 15 outfield players, comprising 10 starters and five substitutes, represented four different continents. The squad included players from Turkey, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Côte d’Ivoire, Paraguay, Netherlands, Spain, Ghana, Greece, Portugal, and Denmark.

While the majority of the players were from Europe, the diversity was highlighted by Ferdi Kadıoğlu representing Asia, Diego Gómez representing South America, and Malick Yalcouyé and Ibrahim Osman representing Africa. The only nationality represented by more than one outfield player was the Netherlands, with Pascal Struijk joining goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
