Brignoles launches literary prize with 16 selected novels

In Brignoles, France, the literary season has commenced with the selection of 16 novels for the local literary prize. The competition features a balanced selection of eight works of French literature and eight translated works, chosen for their quality and diverse themes.

To form the selection, a committee reviewed approximately fifty books before narrowing them down to the final sixteen. The initiative aims to highlight both established authors and new talent, with five of the selected titles being debut novels. The books are currently available for readers to review at the local media library and the Charlemagne – Le Bateau Blanc bookstore.

Séverine Cressan, winner of the 2025 prize for her novel ‘Nourrices’, attended the launch event. She noted that the award serves as a significant form of recognition for authors.
