The Emergency Receiving Unit (UPU) at the Brăila County Hospital reported treating 35,036 patients during the first nine months of 2026. This volume averages approximately 130 patients per day, including 1,496 children requiring emergency care.
Medical teams utilized SMURD helicopter services for the rapid aerial transfer of 66 patients in critical condition. In resuscitation efforts, staff successfully revived 26 patients who were brought in with cardiac arrest. Additionally, the team responded to 156 other instances of cardiac arrest within the hospital wards.
To treat acute myocardial infarction and stroke, specialists performed thrombolysis procedures on 59 patients with heart attacks and 51 patients with strokes.
