Brindisi authorities coordinate response to healthcare worker aggression

Authorities and healthcare representatives in Brindisi, Italy, have convened to address the increasing frequency of aggression against medical and nursing staff in hospitals and emergency rooms.

During a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, chaired by Prefect Guido Aprea, officials discussed strategies to strengthen prevention, improve reporting systems for incidents, and enhance collaboration between healthcare facilities and law enforcement. Participants included representatives from the Carabinieri, the State Police, the Guardia di Finanza, and local medical and nursing professional orders.

Colonel Agostino Scala, Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, met with Paola De Biasi, President of the Order of Nursing Professions of Brindisi, to express institutional support for healthcare workers facing high-tension environments. The initiative aims to promote public awareness and ensure that medical professionals can provide care in safe and respectful environments.
