Brindisi Councilor Quarta challenges municipal hiring agreements

Councilor Roberto Quarta has issued a five-day ultimatum to the Brindisi municipal administration regarding the management of personnel funds and hiring commitments. Quarta alleges that the administration is using accounting maneuvers to bypass institutional agreements made before the Prefect of Brindisi.

The dispute centers on a commitment signed by Personnel Assessor Daniela Maglie, which stipulates the hiring of seven employees between late 2026 and early 2027, followed by an additional ten hires by December 2027. Quarta claims the administration is attempting to treat these institutional obligations as mere political promises that can be modified at will.

Furthermore, the Councilor criticized the administration's stance on budget constraints. He argued that the claim that there are no regulatory obligations regarding resources specifically designated for hiring contradicts public accounting principles and undermines authorizations issued by the Ministry of the Interior's COSFEL.
