Brindisi court convicts eight in cocaine trafficking case
Eight individuals have been convicted in a summary trial by the Brindisi court following an investigation into cocaine and hashish trafficking in Mesagne and surrounding areas. The investigation, conducted by the Mesagne police commissionerate and coordinated by prosecutor Pierpaolo Montinaro, lasted six months and culminated in a raid on February 19, 2026.
The charges involved both retail drug sales and a “door-to-door” delivery model similar to commercial delivery services. Sentences vary among the defendants, including Bruno Magrì, who received six years and eight months, and Andrea Massafra, sentenced to five years and four months. Other defendants received shorter sentences ranging from fourteen months to four years and four months. One individual, Stefano Grande, was acquitted as the court found the facts did not exist.
