Brindisi finalises health staff contracts and landfill safety project

In Brindisi, the regional health authority completed the permanent‑contract programme for 250 healthcare and social‑care workers, including 156 staff at the Ceglie Messapica rehabilitation centre, nurses, physicians and other specialists. The director of ASL Brindisi, Maurizio De Nuccio, said the move stabilises the workforce and improves service quality.

Separately, the Autigno municipal landfill on the outskirts of Brindisi finished an 11‑month environmental‑safety overhaul covering 14 hectares. The project, led by Sogesid and executed by Smeda, installed impermeabilisation, upgraded waste‑handling systems, and added permanent monitoring to protect the surrounding area.
