Brindisi manages waterfront redevelopment, coastal erosion, and social inclusion initiatives

Brindisi is facing several local developments involving infrastructure and social inclusion. A new resolution aims to demolish a wall at the former Catene warehouse to reopen the waterfront, creating a continuous pedestrian walkway from the Fisherman's Village to the Monument to the Sailor. This project is part of a larger 2 million euro ‘Harbor Garden’ initiative.

Simultaneously, the northern coast of Brindisi is experiencing severe erosion. Recent storm surges have damaged cliffs and roads, particularly the route between Via dei Maestri del Lavoro d’Italia and Giancola. There are concerns that bureaucratic delays could jeopardize 16 million euros in allocated funds intended for coastal protection and road redevelopment.

In social news, the AIPD Brindisi association reported significant milestones for individuals with disabilities. Rebecca Capraro secured her first permanent employment contract at a local McDonald’s following a six-month internship. Additionally, the Roma Club Brindisi visited the association to present an official AS Roma jersey to Luca, a young member and football enthusiast, as a gesture of community solidarity.
