Brindisi Multiservizi cuts work, outsources projects under municipal rescue plan

The municipal services company Brindisi Multiservizi has been unable to carry out works that were approved by the Brindisi City Council as part of a rescue plan because its employees are on a solidarity strike. Projects such as the Cillarese works and the Bozzano bridge were included in the original plan.

Under a new commissioner administration, the pending works are being externalised to private firms and a series of new projects labelled “rilancio” have been assigned to the company. Critics argue that the previous management used the solidarity policy as an alibi and that the current strategy relies on higher‑revenue activities such as paid parking. The situation reflects political tension over the company’s financial recovery.

“Prima tagliano le gambe alla Multiservizi e ora la rimproverano perché non corre e non riesce a produrre.”
