Brindisi municipal council approves school and service measures

The Brindisi municipal government has implemented several administrative measures affecting local services and education. Following a theft at the Registry Office in July 2026, the administration has limited cash payments for identity card services, relying instead on POS terminals and the PagoPA system. However, this shift has caused difficulties for citizens due to technical connection issues and the requirement for digital tools like SPID, which can be challenging for elderly residents.

Regarding education, the municipal executive approved guidelines for school dimensioning for the 2027-2030 period, maintaining the current structure of local educational institutions. The council also proposed activating a new lower secondary school unit at the ‘La Nostra Famiglia’ complex. Additionally, the ‘Tutti a bordo andiamo a scuola!’ project has been assigned to manage student transport for those living in rural areas for the 2026-2027 school year.

Other approved measures include funding for the 25th edition of the ‘Taekwondo Open internazionale – Brindisi’ and support for the presentation of the Valtur Brindisi basketball team.
