Brindisi home care workers face salary delays and uncertainty

Labor unions FP CGIL, UIL FP, and Fisascat CISL have reported significant delays and uncertainty regarding salary payments for home assistance workers (SAD and ADI) in the Brindisi and San Vito dei Normanni areas.

The workers are employed through the Sirio cooperative, which has reportedly communicated financial difficulties stemming from unpaid funds owed by the Consorzio BR1. Unions are calling on the Consorzio and the local municipalities to intervene to ensure that administrative or accounting disputes do not impact the staff responsible for assisting elderly and vulnerable citizens.

Union representatives stated that workers have a right to punctual and certain remuneration. They have warned of potential mobilization actions if the current situation of stress and financial uncertainty is not resolved.
