Brindisi to host conference on historical activities as cultural heritage

The Confesercenti Provinciale Brindisi Technical Assistance Center (CAT) will host a conference titled “Le Attività Storiche come Patrimonio Vivo del Territorio” on Wednesday, October 28, at Palazzo Nervegna. The event is part of a regional promotional project in Puglia dedicated to historical activities and traditions.

The conference aims to highlight the cultural and commercial value of traditional shops, artisan workshops, and restaurants, viewing them as essential cultural and tourist attractions rather than mere retail points. Discussions will focus on identity, urban regeneration, and experiential tourism to help these businesses navigate challenges such as globalization and digitalization.

Participants will include regional and local administrators, industry associations, and tourism operators. The event will also feature the official presentation of the brochure “Storie di bottega, storie di comunità – Le Attività Storiche della Regione Puglia nella provincia di Brindisi,” which documents the historical shops and workshops that serve as pillars of local identity and community.
