Brisa Festival in Málaga launches with Love of Lesbian headlining

The sixth edition of the Brisa Festival opened on Thursday at the Dique de Levante in Málaga, drawing thousands of fans to the coastal city. Spanish indie band Love of Lesbian headlined the night, delivering a set that was subtitled and interpreted in sign language, underscoring the festival’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

Other performances included David Otero, Barry B and an electronic set by Hot Chip. Emerging Spanish acts such as Pilu, Monte Ventura, Pequeño Mal and Something About Tsunamis also took the stage, highlighting the event’s support for new talent. Festival organizers noted that European FM served as the official radio partner and that the larger stage this year allowed for a broader audience experience. Vocalist Santi Balmes of Love of Lesbian spoke about a temporary hiatus for the band and warned of misinformation and extremist influences, reinforcing the festival’s inclusive ethos.
