Brisbane homeowner Jack Bruce says children used in repeated break‑in attempts

Jack Bruce, a homeowner in Holland Park, Brisbane, reported that his house was targeted for the sixth time. CCTV footage showed children as young as 10 vaulting a wall and opening a gate to allow adults to enter the property while Bruce, his nine‑month‑old baby and his 10‑year‑old child were asleep.

Bruce said the incidents are part of a pattern in the suburb, which recorded 68 burglaries or break‑ins in 2025 despite being rated a low‑crime area. In response, he set up a neighbourhood group chat to alert residents when offenders return.
