Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards Highlight Everyday City Life

The 2026 Lord Mayor’s Photographic Awards in Brisbane were held under the theme “Everyday Brisbane”. More than 2,200 entries were received, and judges selected ten category winners and 23 People’s Choice finalists.

Winners included Tyler Sharman’s “Rush hour” (Open Category 1st), Nigel Wesley’s “Shooting the breeze” (2nd), Jonathan Wood’s “Australia” (3rd) and several works capturing the Riverfire fireworks over the Story Bridge, suburban scenes and sunrise on the river. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the images “show the lifestyle we enjoy every day”. The public vote will determine the People’s Choice winner.
