Brisbane Markets launches A$34 million Favco warehouse project

Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) and builder SBP Australia have begun construction of a new A$34 million, 7,261.8 m² warehouse in the South Gate Precinct of the Brisbane Markets. The purpose‑built facility will provide temperature‑controlled storage and operational space for Favco (Qld) Pty Ltd, including nine ripening rooms, seven loading docks, two finger docks and two forklift ramps. Completion is targeted for June 2027.

BML Managing Director and CEO Andrew Young said the investment demonstrates BML’s commitment to delivering industry‑leading infrastructure for its tenants. Favco Director Mark Clarke highlighted that the new site will consolidate the company’s operations and enable further growth, while SBP founding director Max Burns noted the project as one of the most significant the builder has undertaken.

The development will add 6,136.8 m² of warehouse area and a 1,125 m² administration block, supporting the fresh‑produce sector’s expanding needs in Queensland.
