Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory face off in A-League Men season opener

Brisbane Roar will host Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium this Friday night for a Match Week 2 encounter in the A-League Men season. The match follows a postponement of Brisbane's initial fixture against Adelaide United due to AFC Champions League commitments.

Brisbane Roar enters the match with a squad featuring ten potential new faces, including players such as Jacob Nasso, Tyrese Francois, and Nam Tae-Hee. Tom Aldred returns to the club and will reclaim the captaincy. However, the team faces a setback with Dimitri Valkanis expected to be sidelined until December due to an injury.

Perth Glory seeks to recover from a 2-1 opening defeat against Macarthur FC. Head Coach Adam Griffiths has prepared his squad for a highly physical encounter, noting Brisbane's reputation for intensity. Perth Glory faces several injury concerns, with Henry Hore and Calem Nieuwenhof likely to miss the match, while Matt Dench, Charbel Shamoon, and Brian Kaltak remain unavailable.
