Brisbane Roar appoints Nick Hegarty as B-Team Head Coach

Brisbane Roar has appointed Nick Hegarty as the head coach of the club’s B-Team. Hegarty joins the Queensland-based club from Hume City FC in NPL Victoria, where he recently led the team to a second-place finish in the 2026 regular season.

In his new role, Hegarty will oversee the B-Team program while working across the A-League Men’s environment. His responsibilities include focusing on individual player development and facilitating the transition of players from the B-Team into the first-team squad. He will also provide developmental support to established first-team contracted players.

Sporting Director James Gow noted that the B-Team is a vital component of the club’s pathway, emphasizing that the role is designed to create close alignment with the senior team through a focus on individual development.
