Brisia Jodie and Jonathan Alden hold Mitoni ceremony

Celebrity couple Brisia Jodie and Jonathan Alden held a Mitoni ceremony, a traditional Javanese seven-month pregnancy ritual, in Pamulang, South Tangerang. The event included several traditional stages, such as sungkeman (paying respect to parents), the distribution of blessings, and a siraman (water pouring) ceremony involving seven participants.

During the celebration, the couple revealed that they are expecting a boy. While they had previously learned the gender through Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) at 10 to 11 weeks of pregnancy, they chose to keep the information secret to surprise their families during the gender reveal. The news of a male grandchild is particularly significant as both families have primarily had female grandchildren until now.

Jodie noted that the ceremony is a long-standing family tradition for those reaching the seven-month mark of pregnancy. She mentioned that the physical demands of the ritual, which included changing outfits seven times, were quite exhausting. Alden expressed his readiness to embrace fatherhood, noting that he is already considering future responsibilities such as financial planning and childcare support.
