Bristol International Balloon Fiesta draws tens of thousands of visitors
The 48th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta took place at Ashton Court, featuring more than 100 hot‑air balloons in a three‑day free festival. Organisers scheduled up to six mass ascents—morning and evening flights at 6 am and 6 pm—plus two Night Glows on Friday and Saturday evenings. The event also offered family yoga, historic and model balloon displays, live music on the Moon Stage, and a demonstration by the RAF Falcons Display Team.
Attendance was expected to reach tens of thousands, with visitors arriving as early as 5 am to secure viewing spots. Additional attractions included the Brizzle Kicks children's stage, the Thatchers Balloon Bar, and a night‑time soundtrack produced by BBC Radio Bristol. Parking filled quickly, and the festival continued with daily mass ascents and entertainment throughout the weekend, weather permitting.
