Bristol Myers Squibb reports positive Phase 3 results for Zenbexus in myeloma trial
Bristol Myers Squibb has announced positive Phase 3 results from its EXCALIBER-RRMM trial, where the combination of Zenbexus (iberdomide), daratumumab, and dexamethasone met its second primary endpoint of progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
At a median follow-up of 23 months, the Zenbexus regimen demonstrated a median PFS of 42 months, compared to 20 months for the control group receiving bortezomib, daratumumab, and dexamethasone. This represents a 51 per cent reduction in the risk of disease progression or death (HR, 0.49; p < 0.000001). The trial involved 800 adults randomized into two groups of 400.
The safety profile of the combination remained consistent with previous findings. This PFS success follows the trial’s earlier achievement of its first primary endpoint regarding minimal residual disease-negative complete response. Bristol Myers Squibb plans to present the full study results at the American Society of Hematology meeting in December.
