Britax Römer recalls BABY-SAFE PRO infant car seats
Britax Römer has issued a voluntary recall for a specific batch of BABY-SAFE PRO infant car seats manufactured between December 26, 2025, and September 30, 2026. The recall follows safety test results from Stiftung Warentest and ADAC.
The safety risk is specifically linked to using the car seat in its flattest reclining position on the ISOFIX VARIO BASE 5Z base station. In the event of a frontal collision, the harness buckle may release automatically, potentially causing the child to be ejected from the seat and suffer severe or fatal injuries.
Users are advised not to use the car seat in the reclining position on the Vario Base 5Z. However, the seat remains safe to use in an upright position on the base or when secured using a vehicle seat belt.
