British Airways expands Barbados flight capacity

British Airways is set to significantly increase its flight capacity to Barbados starting October 25, 2026. The expansion includes the introduction of a new daily service from London Gatwick to Grantley Adams International Airport, which will complement existing flights from London Heathrow.

During the winter 2026/27 season, the airline plans to operate three daily direct flights from the United Kingdom to Barbados. The Gatwick service will operate as a shared route with Guyana, Tobago, or Grenada on six days of the week, with dedicated Barbados flights on Wednesdays. By the summer 2027 season, the airline expects to provide its first-ever double-daily service to the island.

This expansion is projected to deliver more than 120,000 additional seats annually, representing a 70% increase in seating capacity for the winter season and a more than 100% increase for the summer 2027 period. Barbados Tourism officials have welcomed the move, noting it will improve accessibility for travelers from the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
