British Airways launches year-round direct flights to Costa Rica
British Airways has transitioned its service between London Heathrow and Juan Santamaría International Airport in Alajuela, Costa Rica, from a seasonal schedule to year-round direct flights.
The inaugural year-round flight, BA233, arrived on a Sunday afternoon carrying over 200 passengers. This milestone coincides with the tenth anniversary of the airline’s initial entry into the Costa Rican market in April 2016.
The permanent route is intended to bolster transatlantic connectivity, tourism, and international commerce between Europe and Central America. Legal experts note that such direct routes underscore the importance of bilateral trade frameworks and international civil aviation agreements in fostering long-term foreign investment.
