British American Tobacco announces new investment in Greece
British American Tobacco (BAT) has announced a new investment plan in Greece, centered on the development of a retail chain dedicated exclusively to the company’s ‘New Categories’ of products.
During a visit to Athens, BAT Group Chief Operating Officer Johan Vandermeulen met with representatives of the Greek government to discuss the company’s economic contribution and long-term commitment to the country. The leadership team also attended the official opening of the first retail store for these new product categories in central Athens, marking the first location of its kind for BAT in Western Europe.
BAT has maintained a presence in Greece for 27 years and identifies the country as one of its most important markets in the region. The company noted its ongoing contribution to public revenue, citing annual contributions of approximately €500 million.
