British Columbia dominates Canada’s 2026 best resorts rankings

British Columbia has secured 11 of the top 15 positions in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards for Canada’s best resorts. The province accounts for approximately 73 per cent of the national list, highlighting its strength in luxury hospitality, wellness retreats, and wilderness tourism.

Tofino’s Wickaninnish Inn was ranked number one, followed by Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler at number two. The winning properties are geographically diverse, with four recognized resorts in Whistler and three in Tofino. Other winning locations include Royston, Sonora Island, Desolation Sound, and Brentwood Bay.

The awards are based on nearly 800,000 reader votes, reflecting traveler experiences across various categories including accommodation and destinations.
