British Columbia municipal elections approach in several regions

Municipal elections are approaching in several British Columbia regions, including the Central Okanagan and the Parksville-Qualicum Beach area.

In the Central Okanagan, Wayne Carson is running for the Regional District of Central Okanagan West Electoral Area Director. Carson, a three-term incumbent, has identified several key priorities for the community, including the renewal of the Official Community Plan, short-term rental pilot projects, soil removal bylaws, and water system infrastructure. He also emphasized the importance of FireSmart and structural protection for homes as a primary concern.

In the Parksville, Qualicum Beach, and Regional District of Nanaimo areas, advance voting is scheduled for October 7 and October 14. General voting day is set for October 17. Various community centers and churches across these electoral areas have been designated as polling stations for both advance and general voting periods.
