British Columbia wildfire relief: Organizations provide emergency grants and aid
Various organizations are mobilizing financial and logistical support to assist communities affected by the 2026 wildfire season in British Columbia. United Way BC has launched immediate response grants of up to $15,000 for non-profits to address urgent needs such as food security, transportation, and mental health support. The Shxwhá:y Village First Nation has already utilized such funding to provide meals and cultural activities for evacuees.
Additional relief efforts include a $57,500 contribution from Tru Cooperative Bank to support community organizations and Indigenous assistance. Telus has committed $2 million toward emergency wildlife relief, network connectivity, and data top-ups for affected customers. Furthermore, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank is providing aid to displaced residents in the Vancouver area and has deployed a food truck to the Okanagan region to support those impacted by the Bald Range, Quilpituk Creek, and Bradley Creek wildfires.
