British Columbia wildfires prompt aid from Yukon, Alberta and Mexico

The B.C. Wildfire Service reported 135 active wildfires on July 27, 2026. Of these, 57 are out of control, 30 are being held, and 48 are under control. The response includes 885 personnel, four incident‑management teams, 163 aircraft and 125 pieces of heavy equipment.

The service has issued 32 active evacuation orders and 28 alerts. Crews from Yukon Protective Services, Alberta Wildfire and Mexico are scheduled to arrive to bolster firefighting capacity. Hot, dry and windy conditions are expected to continue in southeastern B.C., and forecasts of warm, dry weather raise the risk of new fire starts.
