Separately, the Pear Lake wildfire in the south Cariboo has engulfed roughly 66,871 hectares, prompting evacuation orders for 583 properties and alerts for 969 more. Crews rescued a resident who refused to leave after the blaze surrounded his home, underscoring the strain on resources. The Village of Clinton has been evacuated as fire officials warn that non‑compliance with evacuation orders endangers both the public and first responders.
