British Explorer Scouts complete international expeditions in Peru and Morocco

British Explorer Scout units have completed significant international expeditions in Peru and Morocco.

A 40-member West Yorkshire Scouts unit, including 30 Explorer Scouts and 10 adult leaders, recently returned from a two-week trip to Peru. The group trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and visited Cusco. During the expedition, the group navigated challenges including missed flights, severe weather, and a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred approximately 200 kilometers from their base.

Separately, a Wrexham-based Explorer Scout unit completed a mountain expedition in Morocco. The group, consisting of 10 Scouts and two adults, spent four days acclimatizing in the Atlas Mountains before summiting Mount Toubkal. Following the climb, the group participated in a camel trek and engaged in cultural exchanges with local Moroccan and French Scout groups in Marrakech.
