British Garden Centres promotes conifers for autumn gardening

To mark National Conifer Week, running from September 19th to 27th, British Garden Centres has released a guide highlighting the benefits of incorporating conifers into autumn gardens.

Unlike deciduous plants that lose their leaves in colder months, conifers provide year-round structure, texture, and color through varieties in emerald, silvery-blue, and golden yellow. The guide notes that modern cultivars, including dwarf and slow-growing varieties, are well-suited for smaller spaces such as patios and urban balconies.

Beyond aesthetics, conifers serve functional purposes by acting as natural screens for privacy and noise reduction. They also provide essential shelter and food for birds, insects, and small mammals during the dormant season.
