British Garden Centres reports strong sales and profit growth
British Garden Centres (BGC) has reported significant financial growth for 2025, with sales increasing by nearly 30 per cent to £223.2 million. This represents a £51 million increase over 2024. The group's profitability also saw a sharp rise, with profit before tax increasing by almost 60 per cent to £12.2 million and EBITDA reaching £18.7 million.
Several factors contributed to this performance, including favorable spring weather, heavy investment in existing portfolios, and the acquisition of eight new locations: Gosforth, Shinfield, Gloucester, Northampton, Havant, Heighley Gate, Hayes, and Rugby. These additions have brought the total number of centres operated by the family-owned group to 80 across the United Kingdom.
In addition to its financial expansion, the group is launching its seasonal retail campaigns. Upminster Garden Centre has announced the opening of its Christmas Department, featuring an expanded Fern Christmas and Lighting collection exclusive to the group.
