British High Commission hosts Team Nigeria to celebrate Glasgow 2026 success

The British High Commission in Nigeria hosted a reception in Abuja to celebrate Team Nigeria's performance at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The event honored athletes, coaches, and officials following the nation's emergence as the highest-ranked African team at the Games.

Nigeria finished 7th overall in the medal standings, making it the only African nation to place in the top ten. The team secured a total of 24 medals, consisting of 10 gold, seven silver, and seven bronze. Notably, Nigeria accounted for 10 of the 22 gold medals won by the entire African continent and set three world records during the competition.
