British nationals sentenced in separate cocaine trafficking cases

Two separate drug trafficking cases involving British nationals have resulted in significant prison sentences.

In Europe, Andrew Doran, a 42-year-old known by the alias ‘Bond’, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison. Investigators used intercepted EncroChat communications to link Doran to a professional smuggling operation moving cocaine from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom. The operation involved hiding 172 kilograms of cocaine inside modified gas cylinders. The street value of the drugs associated with his activities is estimated at approximately 18 million pounds (over 20 million euros). Authorities also identified his involvement in moving large sums of cash across borders.

In Indonesia, 53-year-old Baath Jarnail Singh was sentenced to nine years in prison by the Denpasar District Court for possessing 1.4 kilograms of cocaine in Bali. The court also ordered Singh to pay a fine of 1 billion rupiah. The case originated in late 2025 when Singh allegedly agreed to store narcotics at his hotel in exchange for cash and transfers. Police discovered the drugs during a raid on his accommodation in the Legian area.
